How many miles on the truck?

What is the maintance history on the truck, Oil changes, Fuel Filter, Coolant...

Sound to me like you may have a leak down issue in the HPO system.

Welcome to the site BTW.

170k it is new to me i serviced it when i got it kid i bought it from put less than 3k on it he was no help as far as history said it was hard to start when cold so would plug it in easy fix replaced gp relay / so if the hpo is leaking off how do you test and what is the fix

HPOP Could be leaknig down.. Let it sit for a day then pull the HPOP resevor plug (on the top of the Resevor) and see if there is oil in the resevor.. if there is no oil pure some in and see how it starts then.... If there is no oil in it that is the problem..

turk 03-06-2011 09:15 AM

if so what is the fix

powerstroke cowboy 03-06-2011 09:17 AM

To tell you the truth i cant remeber

I think there is a valve in the HPOP resevor that need to be replaced along with new gaskets

thanks knew there had to be something i was missing like i say when it fires all is well i will start the search thanks again

powerstroke cowboy 03-06-2011 09:34 AM

yea they need oil to start.. and keep running.. Good luck on finding the problem.

95powersmoker 03-06-2011 11:43 AM

Have you tried plugging it in at night once to see how it starts the next day?

turk 03-07-2011 10:25 AM

thats the deal plugging it in still doesnt change the fact that if has sit for more than a day it does not want to start and seems to be getting worse have not had time to check hpo but sounds like it could be the problem
