Tranny stopped working
 

Yesterday I was driving in 4H we had about 5" of snow on the ground, I was not driving it hard at all. I went into a store, backed out and when I hit the highway suddenly I only had first gear. I pulled over and tried to put it in reverse but nothing.

I shut it off and let it rest for 15 minutes and still only first gear. I had the truck towed home and fired up the heat in the garage to let everything melt. Started it again and still only first. The tranny only has 72,000 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:argh:

First thing to do would be scan it for codes it may have stored in the pcm

Tommorow afternoon my buddy who is a Ford mechanic is bringing his code reader over and checking to see what we have on it.

Well put the scanner on it and no code showed up. So now I have no Idea what to do other than drop the pan look for metal and then take the tranny out. Does anybody know where I can get a good deal on a rebuild kit for an E4OD at a reasonable price that can take some abuse just in case it will need one?
