HELP with driveshaft

My carrier bearing took a s*** on me so I just replaced it. Now as soon as I take off the front piece of the drive shaft somehow slides back into the carrier bearing. Ive taken on and off 6 times still cant figure the problem. My question is, is there a snap ring or something on my transfer case to keep it from sliding back? Thanks in advance...

Shouldn't the carrier bearing be a pressed fit on the shaft. Bolting the bearing assembly to the truck with it pressed on the shaft is what what keeps the shaft from sliding back and forth.

Ya, I had it pressed on and it is somehow sliding out of the transfer back into the carrier. Im stumped.
