1993 chevy with the 6.5
 

ok this truck used to start just fine,

it has been bagged,and the bed floor raised

ok now ive been working on it for a while,it used to take about 45-60 minutes to get started,

i have checked and cleaned glow plugs,as well as other tests...

i now have the oil sending unit jumped with the jumper wire to start the fuel pump,and i have to bleed the fuel at the rear of the intake,while having someone else crank it over.


otherwise it takes a hour to start,this way it starts quickly...

what could be the issue,also it sat for about 6 months while being bagged

When you loosen a injector line and crank it over does the fuel trickle out or does a good amount of fuel shot out?

never checked that,just been bleeding it at the rear of intake(not even sure what im bleeding) but that is the only way it starts easily...

someone mentioned maybe the fuel return line may be pinched?? make any sense?

Your bleeding air out of the fuel filter. If you are getting air in the system I would doubt that it is a pinched return. It sounds like you are getting air from some where. Check all the fuel lines for cracks and loose connections. You could also have injectors laying down and allowing the fuel to run back to the tank. Try parking the truck with the back end up a incline so the fuel doesn't run back to the tank and see how it starts.

i bet those lines dryrotted after sitting so long. probably going to have to check under the intake manifold for the rubber lines.
