Stalled a few times idling, twice while driving, now it won't start

I just bought my 93 6.5 Turbo (used obviously) and was really happy. It drove nice all the way home.

Ate dinner and went out to take the wifey for a drive. Stalled after 30 seconds. Stalled a few more times while idling. The next morning it started right up and I drove it to the parts store to buy a new fuel filter. I broke down on the way and had to tow it home with a strap.

It started once more for me and ided for 20 seconds and stalled out, now my new baby won't start.

I'm getting fuel to the T valve, went to change the fuel filter and the part sold to me looks like the one in the manual, and it looks similar to what is on the truck, but the cap is definitely different and won't fit.

I also I asked for an oil pressure switch, napa has it listed as an oil pressure light switch (looks the same as the oil pressure switches I see online though) I haven't had the chance to change it yet.

Thoughts?

The fuel filter is keyed on one of the tabs that stick up will be bigger than the rest and has to go in the biggest hole in the filter. I think you need to get the filter changed then go from there.

2MuchJunk, thanks for the quick response. I know... that's the manual says too, but check this out...

Here is what I bought:

Here is what I pulled out from behind the intake manifold:

The previous owner said he had the engine replaced, could this be a hummer engine in my GMC 3500? :argh:

Working on the Oil Pressure Switch this morning, going to get the right filter and a Chilton.

I changed the OPS (Oil Pressure Sending Unit aka Oil Pressure Switch aka Oil Pressure Sensor) needed to buy a special socket (Napa Sells an Oil Pressure Sensor Socket) its deeper than a normal 27mm deep socket. I bled the air, but Im thinking I didn't get it all because she stalled a few times before she actually started running. She's been idling for about half an hour now. Almost afraid to turn her off.

I'll let you know if she stalls again.

I still don't hear the lift-pump going, thinking about taking her in for a good scan from a qualified mechanic and to let them check the cylinder compression. I've also got some oil leaking, it looks like its coming from the valve cover, I might have them fix this as well.

Thanks 2MuchJunk for the input. The filter itself was pretty clean, but I went ahead and changed it anyway and sucked out the bits at the bottom of the chamber with a baby nose plunger and bled the air from the line.

Still running strong. One more thing. Apparently THE FILTERS are two different brands. Wix is the one that was on my truck. You can find them online way cheaper. I'm thinking about buying an extra set for posterity.:c:
