2003 Cummins cutting out
 

Hey guys, my '03 started cutting out last week. Sometimes when i start it it will die or almost die after running 5 seconds or so. Now it has started getting dead pedal. Im getting 2121 and 2122, also the code for the SKIM not in key, forget the number. I assume that one is the chip in my key is going bad? Anyway, ive cleaned the connections on the injector harnesses and apps, cleaned almost every connection i can find. I assume its the APPS, but for $400 i wanna be sure. Is there a procedure on testing the apps? This is an early '03, the apps is on the engine, not under the battery (i learned after tearing out the battery, inner fender, etc:scare2:

The cutting out and dying sure sounds like a bad lift pump. What is your fuel pressure?

I replaced the factory lift pump with an upgraded external pump 6 months ago. Don't have a gauge. It acted like this when the pump was bad, but that doesn't explain the codes or check engine light. I'm pretty sure it's a bad connection or apps
