2007 Classic Duramax starting issues

The truck runs fine except now it takes longer to start. It is turning over around 8 - 10 times. I used to start right up. Sometimes it takes longer to start. Fuel filter has 80% life. I have noticed fuel dripping out of bottom of filter (out of the pitcock I think that is what it is called. Please help

Check and make sure the petcock isn't loose, or rather the entire filter. Might have to remove the filter, clean the gasket and the face of the housing, then reinstall the filter.

Sounds like loos of prime. If fuel can get out, air can get in, and you don't have a lift pump of any sort stock. Your system relies on holding prime. I bet if you crack the bleeder screw and pump on the primer pump it will fire right up.

Fix your leak, I would either tighten or replace both the fuel filter and petcock if need be, then prime it and see if the problem persists.

I changed fuel filter today with no luck. I believe it may be the wif sensor. I will change and hope for the best. If this does not work then off to the shop. Does anyone know of a good diesel mechanic in the Manassas, VA area

WIF Sensor did the trick.
