Locked in 4x4 and got a long drive.

Hello fellow bombers
Man i got a problem. I was having problem with the vaccum engagement on my 96 dodge. The coupling wasn't shiftin over inside of the front differential. Well i took the vaccum assembly out and moved the coupling by hand. But here in lies the problem. I now have full time 4 wheel drive. I can kill the power to it by disengeging the transfer case, but doesn't that mean my hubs are locked still. The reason for concern is that I live in texas and i'm in pennsylvane. Is my shit going to burn up? Pardon the spelling.

:howdy::hi:
As far as your front diff being engaged, I can't imagine that it would hurt much anything as most new vehicles are always engaged anyway nowadays. As long as you are not actually in 4WD, it shouldn't be too critical. You might lose a bit of mileage though...

just manually move the coupling back out so its 2 wheel

I'm certain i can move it back over and all will be fine until i get back to (best state in the union) Texas. Atleast there it's not -3 degrees and four foot of snow. I thank anyone who has helped me with this.
