02 Cummins cutting out

Last night on my way home from work my 02 Ram 3500 started cutting out like it was running out of fuel so when I got it home I changed the fuel filter. This morning was doing the same thing other than the check engine light came on, water in fuel light, and the ect gauge pegged high. I checked the codes and got P0606 i think it was, ECM processor fault, as well as a few v ref above and below normal. I checked the charging system and its good, but both batterys that were only a year old were bad, replaced them and no help... Are theres trucks known for any harness problems oor do they have weak ECM's? Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks DJ:argh:

If flashing it doesn't help, need to replace it. Just the luck of the draw.:ouch:

Ouch :ouch: I was worried thats what you were going to say. Is there any aftermarket performance ECM's out there or do I have to go OEM, and have it reflashed

I'd go with OEM, and yes they will have to program it to the options that are on your truck. Plus you'll get a warranty on it. :tu:

Before putting an ecm in it check all of your grounds make sure that they are clean and tight. And also check the connections at the ecm make sure they are plugged in all the way and are not dirty or corroded or anything like that. Check that stuff first before having to go throgh putting an ecm in and being in the same boat.

I have checked my connections and grounds, all good, I pulled the harness off the truck and checking it for any rubbed wires, so far nothing. Was trying to rule out everyting before the computer but isn't looking good:s:. Looks like I have to fork $915 out to chrysler or 600 to ACE

Either way, Chrysler has to program it, and I would compare warranties.
