Transmission problems

Our transmissions seems to be getting stuck in second gear. However when we get it out of that gear it won't allow us to shift into 1st,3rd, or 4th gear. We have a 1992 f350 7.3 liter truck.... Anyone have this problem? all cables are fine and the transmission has fluid. Please HELP...:dang:

no it didn't smell burnt. As for it being serviced I don't know we just purchased this truck and its been nothing but a headache...
