7.3 4R100 tranny not shifting 3-4 until warm

The tranny isn't shifting from 3rd to 4th gear while cold.... and OD OFF light flashes ..... after about 5 miles, if I turn the truck OFF , then start again, no shifting problems and no flashing OD OFF light?

I have cleaned the connectors and the tranny fluid is good.

7k miles on a FORD RE=MAN tranny.

Any Ideas?

Thank you!

Problem sounds electrical. Not sure if they run a PCM type computer on the Fords like Dodge does for the transmission. Thinking that's a place to look.

Thanks for the hint!

I borrowed a SnapOn code reader:

code # P0783, 3-4 Shift Malfunction

Now if I could just find a manual that will tell what to do next?

Thank you!

More Data... (not new data, just a clarification)

I installed gauges 14 NOV.... and the tranny will shift to 4th gear when the Tranny Temp reaches 140*.

Probably a solenoid went out.
