2006 6.0L No Start

I got a 2006 6.0L 140,000 miles; the first two warm starts this morning took longer than usual, took around 5-6 sec to fire up. Later on that morning killed it to fuel up, and would not start, will turn over but no start. Computer not showing any codes, no check engine light, oil pressure gauge not moving when engine turning over. Trying to get some input before taking it to dealer

No start

I may of had the same problem last Dec. My 05 f350 would only start when cold, stop for fuel etc. I had to wait 20 -40 min. before it would fire. It would crank all day but not fire.
Took it to the dealer diag. was the internal high pressure oil pump. Appox. $2000.cdn.

Yep, kinda what I was thinking after some research. My truck has been running rough when cold to the point that it isnt driveable until engine would reach normal operating temp. That problem has been going on since around 100,000 miles. I tried running some oil additive (Hot Shot's Secret) they claimed it would clean injectors and improve cold starts. I could not tell a difference. Did you have any trouble with cold starts before your HPOP went out?

I am dealing with the hard start problem right now, so far (1st day) they told me the batteries were bad, yet they had 48 volts coming out of the ficm. Several people here have told me the ficm may be going bad. The dealer does not have a clue.
Good luck, keep me posted.

I replaced a hpop in an 03 but it ran fine when cold, it would cut off when it got up to operating temp.

quick connect fitting on pump

Keep in mind 05 and newer have a diferent pump and fittings than the 03-04 trucks, most of the problems with the 05 truck is just the quick connect fitting /$50/ on the pump. My sister's truck had the same problem and she took it to a dealer, quoted her $4500 to replace pump oil cooler and egr cooler, I fixed it for $225 in about 8 hours, that included a egr block off kit as well. plus I took the time to clean out the intake, I doubt they would do that. The telltale sign is the truck will start cold but not hot, let it cool down for an hour or so it will start, that is the quick connect fitting, if the pump was bad it wouldn't run at all or very poorly all the time,Bob
