02 cummins leaking fluids
 
just bought truck from used dealer in va. 90 miles from my home day before i got another 02 and tranny blew up on way home so they charge me 600$ more for another model with 160000mi. and a so called built tranny 4spd auto there is aftermarket cooler pan and a shift kit due to issue on first truck i check all fluids before i left dealer engine oil in safe range got home and noticed tranny fluid under truck looks like from around transfer case cant find leak seal areas look ok and after closer inspection i found top bottom of truck heavily coated with oily dirt also engine oil leaking from front of engine all over bottom of truck and oil level just below safe line could motor be shot has lots of power and shifts hard and oktruck has k&n intake and 4inch exuast i traded a 2000 f350 powerstroke with utility body that did not leak any fluids at all with166000 iwas finding truck diifficult to sell with utility body and always liked that cummins sound please help:madd:

Ok, slow down a little bit. I know its frustrating, but its also very hard to understand your issue with everything rolled into one rant. So, lets go over this.

You bought an 02, blew the transmission, and they rebuilt the transmission or they took the truck back and got you another 02 with an auto?

You are leaking ATF and Engine Oil. Lets look at engine oil first.

On the front of your motor on the drivers side you will find a canister with a hose that comes off of it. This hose will come straight up then 180 down the front of the motor. This is your crankcase breather tube, and yes, oil vapor comes out of this. Its pretty common for oil to collect around this area, more so when the little catch bottle is missing from the tube. Check that out first.
Now, while in there, check the front main seal. Thats also a fairly common leak point, as is the transmission pan. Do you see any oil build up around the dip stick tube like the motor is pushing oil up and out the tube?

ATF. Is the ATF level high or low? It could leak from the converter seal, rear seal, valve body lever area, cooler fittings or trans pan. The tcase can leak as well, probably not a bad idea to check the level on that too. Most people forget about the fluid in that.

If it were me, I would take $10 in quarters to the local car wash and wash as much of the underside and engine bay as possible with simple green or purple power so you can chase out the leaks.

I am with stupid. No i am just kidding. He is right clean it up very well that is the best thing you can do and then look for leaks.

If you can not find anything right away. Keep and eye on your fluid levels and drive it around and keep looking where it is coming from.

Sometimes it is a slow enough leak that you have to drive it to find it.
