HELP!! Need to prime a "gas station-style" pump

Anybody know how to prime a gas station-style pump? (sorry...don't know the proper term for the pump)

The pump has sit idle since last September. I took the interior filter off and NO fuel is making it to the filter.

Any ideas? I have approximately 400 gallons of free diesel waiting for me at the bottm of that tank.

I'm assuming it's an electric style deepwell pump that is in there. If that's the case no priming needed. It should prime itself as long as the pipe is still attached to the pump in the tank. Can you hear the pump motor running in the tank.

X2 maybe the pump is cracked or has a bad seal.

Thanks for the replies. The boss decided to call for a service call on the pump. I'll let him fix it!
