could possible be rings. when it is running touch #6 fuel line and see if it feels like its pulseating. when u swapped injectors, did u make sure there was nothing in the bottom of the injector bore?

Did ya try a new spark plug in it yet. :tttt::tttt: Sorry couldn't resist. Welcome to the site Bud :c:.

The easiest way to check this out would probably be to check compression on that cylinder as compared to the other ones or use a temp gun to see if it's runnin hot or cold. As long as the new injector is feedin fuel right it almost has to be a scored cylinder wall, bad rings or injector is burnt through. Check the easiest thing first though, pull the injector and make sure the old copper seal came out with the old injector and the new one is seated right.

Harbour Freight has the best deal I have found for a diesel compression tester at about $30. It would be a good investment to know for sure your cylinders are good or bad.

How many miles on this thing? Are you getting any white smoke? You have changed out the injector, with what? Crack the injection line loose and make sure the pump is giving you fuel.

How long has this been going on? Anything you can think of that happened prior to this situation that may help?

thanks a lot of good answers ok i did not check in the inj. hole but the old copper ring came out with inj. ok could be scored cyl. she has 107,500 was running fine. i used the touch first and it did not burn me so took out the temp gun and about 15 to 20 deg. cooler. i got a rebuilt inj. from a good place oregon fuel inj. and no blowby at all put finger over dip stick hole no pressure at all. no white smoke just black smoke. i have cracked the line and get fuel out but it does not change rpms. help please it is driving me crazy

Sounds like time to do a compression and leak down test. With no blowby the rings are most likely good but you may have a valve starting to burn or slightly bent which would lower compression and cause a miss.

If you have no white smoke but have black, check your valve lash. Also, make sure you don't have a bent push rod. Swap the injector from 6 to something like 4 or 3, see if the temp change follows it. You aren't showing a big enough temp difference to be concerned right now, but something is up.

Check and make sure sure the oil level isn't rising.
