LB7 Duramax CP3 Mod

I'm in the middle of modifying the stock CP3 on my LB7, I got the FCA off to modify it, and of course I broke the plunger in it. So does anybody have a regulator handy around Southern/Central Ohio? Next, I'm trying to get the pump cover off the back to drill it out, and I've deemed it impossible. Can you get the cover off with the intake bridge in place? Any tips on getting the bridge out if I have to take it out, it's got 4 studs at an agle on the bottom, and the nuts are flanged so I can't double nut them unless I go buy some new ones, plus there is no room to work. I don't want to have to pull the CP3 out, so I'm hoping there is a way to do this. Thanks.

you can pull the back of the pump off with the bridge on there, but since ur gonna be there a while waiting for a new plunger might as well pull the y bridge off to make it easier on yourself pulling the cover.

i do have a lbz fpr, but its in pieces right now, but i dont think it can be back to life and not cause surging issues since i would have to polish out the sctraches in it.

did you score the plunger, how is it broken?

the plunger is really broken, busted from the bottom of the square all the way to the end of the plunger, do you know the best way to get around the fuel lines when pulling out the bridge? I saw that the bottom holes are slotted to allow it to slide past the studs, but now I have all of those hard fuel lines in the way.

also, thanks for the instructions to get me to the FCA 2500HeavyDuty, I just realized that you were the one that wrote the instructions that I used.

get me a pic of that plunger will ya.

the high pressure supply lines can be unbolted and moved out the way, the steel return lines are low pressure and they have rubber hoses on them, you can unbolt them from the vales and bend them out the way if you need more room to work in.

heres some pics when i removed my cp3, and you can see low pressure steel return lines that cuts across the valley is unbolted and moved out the way, it does get in the way when workin in that area.

I just started pulling all kinds of fuel lines apart, hopefully it will all go back together and not leak anywhere! I did end up gettin the intake bridge apart finally, made it night and day difference getting to the back of the CP3. The plunger is already in the landfill, I got mad when I busted it and man-handled it the rest of the way out in a couple pieces. I've got a new modified one one on order now, so hopefully that will get here and I can get it all back together next week. I just talked to my cousin the other day who has a cummins, and of course after I busted my plunger even worse, he told me that he busted the bottom of one of his triangles out and just put it back in like that and it was been working for quite a while now. Oh well, lessons learned, now I've got time to try a few more fuel system mods and break a couple more things. Thanks for the support.
