Leaf spring or shock problems...
 

Well I walked down to my truck today only to find the passenger side rear sittin about 2 inches lower then the rest of the truck. At first it looked like i had a flat tire it was so low. I cant tell if my leaf spring is the problem or if its in the shocks. I have new skyjacker hydro shocks coming either tue or wed which i was planning on replacing anyways, but I cant seem to figure out which my problem is. I measured the shock from the bottom eye to the bottom of the upper cylinder. Its about the same on both sides. I measured gap beween the bottom of my bed and the top of the leaf.. looks like about an inch difference. The driver side has more of an arch to it. Each time i hit a bump it feels like my shocks are bottoming out tho, theres a big thud. Sounds like a bump stop hittin. If anyone can understand what i just typed and has any advice let me know plz I think im going to tape something to the bump stop like an aluminum can and drive it down the road so i can tell if its the bump stops every time i hit a bump. No signs of a crack in the leaf...

sounds like the leaf spring your shocks just help the ride from being bouncy is all

If the leaf spring is shot you will be ridin on the overloads or close to them.

Im not sure I know where the overloads are... not too good with springs n such. But takin it to the shop here in a little bit to have them look at it.. I'll let ya know how it goes and what kind of $$ damages it brings.

id have to say springs if you have to frplace one side id suggest doing them both so it will sit and pull straight. keep the one for a spare

I had a similar problem with an old 1 ton. It was a broken leaf that I couldn't see. Sometimes the leaf will break near the axle pin and be hidden by the U-bolts and such. Hope that's not what it is but ya never know. Good luck with it.
