smoke effect
ok guys this has been bugging me for awhile the engine was rebuilt 2400 miles ago ever since i rebuilt it it blows smoke like crazy at warm up. it only does it when warming up. i notice if i plug the truck in at night it isnt near as bad. i noticed on the 90* days it isnt as bad as the 60* days. the truck drives perfectly normal and has plenty of power. dont have a clue what is going on also i did have the engine overboard like .1000 for oil would that have an effect on this?

Very likely your injectors
Wait until winter.... |
i know they smoked in the winter but it wasnt this bad last summer i know that for a fact, could it be because there is only 2400 miles on the engine?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- its a pure white color smoke till it gets warmer then it turns to a blue shade then its gone. i have noticed if i let it idle at 2k when warming up once the water temp hits about 190 and the thermostat opens it is completely gone |
Hmm, might get better when you get some more miles on it.
|
its bugging the hell out of me. its thick ass smoke for the first few mintues then i clears up. everytime i start the truck i let it idle at 1700-2k rpm till i drive it

how come i cant get video to load

I would look at my timing's effect on cold starts and evaluate my injectors. Generally blue / gray smoke is normally fuel smoke!
|
ok i held a lazer heat gun to the truck on the exhaust ports and the #3 exhaust port is on average 60* colder then the rest ao my guess is that the #3 injector is gunna need rebuilding
|
i replaced the injectors last night and the only difference they made were a power loss the smoke is still the same, any other thoughts

Weak compression??
