leaking from the water in fuel sensor / check valve

I was driving my truck a couple of weeks ago, which I don't do often, and I stopped for fuel and noticed a strong diesel smell. I put some in and headded for home. I didn't think much about it until today. I started it and noticed fuel dropping on the ground. It's leaking from the water in fuel sensor / check valve. I pushed it up and down a couple of times and started the truck back up and it still leaks. Can it be fixed or do I need to replace it?

Sounds like a new o-ring?? See if there is anyway of getting it apart.

I think yer talkin bout 2 different things here

water in fuel sensor is in the side of the fuel filter housing and yes it does have a O-ring so this could be bad

there is also the canister drain valve to drain out any water accumilation you may have...........this has o-rings too so if the leak is here check it out, also if you look at it the lever doesnt actuate the valve stem very well....you may need to just push down on the valve stem...not the actuator
