Tranny problem
Ok, on my way to work today my tranny started acting up. Shifting erratically. When i stop it pulls my truck down to about 500 rpm like the tc wants to lock up. If i give it gas it wont rev up at all if im stopped. When i let off the brake it lurches forward a bit like the tc is locked up and then the throttle will respond. Made it to work and i just hope i can make it home. I just replaced the speed sensor and governor things a couple of months ago when it wouldnt shift right. Dont think it matters, but i just replaced my transfer pump this weekend.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Noone has ever seen this? ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Ok, so i went out at lunch time and it was still acting up. Went out a minute ago and it seems to be acting fine. I pulled the codes and got P0628, P0111, P2509, P0234, and P0628 {yes, it gave me this one twice.} I just pulled the codes last week and the only two in were the P0234{overboost} and P0628{fuel pump}. The other 0628 is new, as are the 0111 {air intake circuit problem} and 2509 {ECM, PCM loss of power}. Any idea why these codes would pop up or if they may be causing my problem? |

Yeah, i replaced the lift pump last weekend and its running fine other than my new problem. I guess i need to take the battery cables off to reset that one, but what about the others?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Oh, and its acting up again. It only acted right the one time, when i left work it started acting the same way again ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Ok, so i guess im gonna have to take it in if noone has an idea whats wrong with it. I guess when my truck breaks it does it good lol |
Oooops, I didn't get all the code problems listed. Hold on!!!

Can do a little checking around for the P2509. But the others, probably going to have to schedule an appointment for the dealer.

Cool. Thanks for the help. Now that i think about it, when i took off the battery cable to do the fuel pump i had to pry it open a bit to get it off and it cracked. I tightened it and it seemed pretty good but it may not be tight enough

Might help to clean all the terminals and ground points??
|
cleaned all the connections i could. had the batteries unhooked for a couple hours so the computer would have time to reset. Still doing the same thing, still throwing the same codes:argh:
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Oh yeah, and it wants to shift early. By the time im doin 50 im in od with the tc locked up. The only way it shifts later than that is if im on it pretty hard |
It's looking like a faulty PCM. Bout the only true way to find out is have it checked out with a Star Scan or something similar.
|
Well, took it to the tranny shop yesterday afternoon, best shop around here, and he put it on a scan tool. Said the tranny doesnt have any problem electronically. He used a snap on scan tool. He said the gov. solenoid and all that stuff looked fine. So, its mechanical, said it could be a stuck piston or something wrong with the t.c. The tranny is original to my knowledge and the truck has 221k miles on it. Think im gonna run it till it drops or i can afford a new tranny:argh:
|
Any luck yet??
|
Nah, still acting up. But it seems to have gotten a little bit better. Im just gonna run it till it quits, its got a ton of miles anyway. Tranny guy said it probably wasnt worth tryin to fix without a rebuild anyway and i agree, its got 220k on it and the tc is on its last leg anyway. So, im gonna save up and run it like it is and get a billet tranny so i can start bombing it
