This Truck Is Gonna Drive Me To Drink!!!

I'm on my second aftermarket lift pump, first one didn't meet Mopar flow specs got a second one under warrenty from the first one. Now on the way home tonight truck stumble and then another big one that sounded like it softly "coughed" back through the turbo. With codes p00336 p0521 p0438 and finally p0628...... :se: When it rains it pours......

:itsok:

Red_Rattler 12-30-2008 10:15 PM

Thanks I needed that :pals:

stkdram55 12-30-2008 10:16 PM

Didnt you win the airdog at christmas??

Red_Rattler 12-30-2008 10:20 PM

Yep, I put a stock one back on b4 I knew I won it. I was gonna use that one till spring when the weather is better and I can pull the bed off of the truck to do the install. But at this point I just want my truck to run right and be reliable again!!! :argh:

stkdram55 12-30-2008 10:47 PM

looks like its time to get the overalls out and go work in the cold, huh?:ouch:

Red_Rattler 12-30-2008 10:53 PM

Yep, but I don't think that the only problem because 2 pumps in 400 miles come on.... :hang:

stkdram55 12-30-2008 11:13 PM

:humm: do you know what the codes mean?? It could be your (gulp) Cp3

Jazz 12-31-2008 04:07 AM

Wow! Sorry to hear this again. Another pump? Maybe you should just put the truck away till spring and ride your sled. Man I hope you get this all figured out. It must be frustrating as hell. The Airdog is going to come in handy but I would definitely make sure there aren't other issues. Hang in there Buddy :pals: and keep us updated to what you find. Maybe all the others codes were caused by another faulty pump going out:humm:

Welllllllllll, I was poking and prodding under the hood 2day annnnnnnnd the whole time it was in high idle you could tell the rail pressure wasn't staying consistent. So I was wiggling wires on the back of the lift pump no change, onto the FCA wiggled made some weirder noises then smoothed out a weeee bit after I stopped. Then onto the rail pressure connection...... Since my rp gauge and Banks is plugged into it thats like 6 points of failure :lol88: As I'm moving and pushing it around smooths out roughens up so I said screw it and shut the truck off and say bye bye to the Banks connection. Start back up smooooooth idle no initial rp drop when I get on it. I think I might be on to something? :humm: Except now my rp is lower than it use to be but at least its steady now! I just don't know what a stock would have for rp since that what I'm basicly back to. I'm gonna run it like this for awhile and cross my fingers!

If it's lower at idle, might have popped the rail pressure relief ($400). Remove the banjo bolt and stick a piece of hose on it and into bottle. If any fuel come out, can cap it and see if rp is higher at idle.

Whats The Current Status Of this Situation?

Red_Rattler 01-07-2009 12:53 PM

Truck is still up and running! Has all around better rail pressure too since its gotten warmer out as well. :humm: Still haven't tried plugging in the Banks rail pressure connector yet to see if that was part of the problem yet or not. I'm just happy my truck is moving. I'm also gaining confidence in taking it on longer trips as well. So I'm happy! :choochoo:

sunsetsky 01-21-2009 11:09 PM

Red, I hope you got your pump, and aren't on tonight, cuz you're out enjoying your truck. I had to check out this thread, cuz you said you're truck was gonna drive you to drink. Hopefully you are old enough to do so, and, have a good designated driver, cuz, after all, this is wisconsin, and, well, drinking happens... lol! :c:

I bet Columbus looks beautiful covered in all the snow! :)

Red_Rattler 01-21-2009 11:52 PM

No pump yet folks, but I'm gonna be working on an email to him tomorrow and I'll be gettin my snowmobile trailer lights all fixed up since I have the day off... But yea I'm def. old enough to drink lol 25.... But yep it is WI for sure and my truck has drove me to the bar a few times but this time in particular i meant it litterally since my truck was making me sick since it wasn't running.... Btw Columbus is buried under a white blanket and I love it! I love winter and I'll be out sledding this weekend 4sure I just have to take my CPR class on sat first so I can stay current.... :U:

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

What part of the state do yo reside in? Anything north of me the snow only gets better. Farthest I made it north so far this year on the sled was Westfield. That was a loooong day  Only 310 miles round trip, needless to say I was one sore SOB the next day :ouch: but it was worth it! You go sledding at all? :pca1:
