DEAD 5.9CR

I had to back deep into the lake to get a boat out. Well aperantly this caused me to take water in the tank. I've drained the filter and replaced it. I tried to snake hoses into the tank to cycle the fuel through my scrubber. I think I got most all of it.

No I have a no start. I have fuel at both banjo fittings on the CP3. None at the high return on the rail.

Where else do I need to bleed this?

Don't crack injector lines. Might have popped the rail pressure relief. Remove the banjo bolt from it, turn it over an see if fuel gushes out.

I cracked the inj lines loose at the rail and they arn't spraying as I would have expected.
It feels like it's hitting on 2-3 cyls

Where is this pressure relief?

I got it running...
don't know how, it finally got to a point it would run on 2-3 then slowly brought the other cylinders in. It's fairly smooth now, but smoking more than usual.

well it's dead again

Ran pretty good today for 86 miles. Slight stumble at idle and would cut off at some stops, but start right back up.
It just came to a halt and won't restart. It has fuel at the rail, smokes white in massive clouds.

I'm at a loss. Plan on puling the injectors tonight or tomorow.

May have gotten lucky and didn't score the cylinder walls from excess fuel washing the cylinder walls.

Carbon Footprint 11-03-2008 04:44 PM

theres no increase in the oil level to indicate excessive fuel wash.

wildbill 11-03-2008 04:49 PM

I bet your lift pump is going. Cause if the injectors were bad, your engine would be making oil.

Carbon Footprint 11-03-2008 04:52 PM

I'm getting good flow and decent pressure from the fuel pump when I crack the banjo at the CP3

Whit 11-03-2008 04:55 PM

did you get water up around the block (ECM)

Carbon Footprint 11-03-2008 04:57 PM

didn't get that deep. Water was over the tank and into the back floor boards.
