abs wont work
i cant figure out why my ABS is not working on my truck. i already know my rear brake shoes are toast because people dont disengage the parking brake before they drive it, so could that be a problem. i noticed it about a week ago when i hit my brakes and my front tires locked up. i dont want this anymore since winter is on its way. doest anyone have any ideas to this problem

do the rear brakes and change the fluid out while yer at it then see what happens from there
here is some help, I did this and its well well worth it man https://www.dieselbombers.com/cummin...e-upgrade.html |
well i dont get it the front tires locked up on me yesterday and now when i slam on the pedal the front tires dont lock up, this is wierd
Any resolution?
did you go thru the rear brakes and get them working again???
If its set up like my 03 you may have a problem with the sensors. Mine were cracked and would make/lose the connection alternatively. Is there a dummy light coming on at all?
well i put new shoes on, the light is still on but now i dont even hit my breaks hard enough to lock them up with this exhaust brake

does your truck have 4 wheel ABS or just Rear Wheel ABS? mine has rear wheel ABS....
you know i couldnt tell ya if its just the rear or all four it was made in may of 94 if that means a thing
look under the hood and at the master cyl. if there are 2 solonoid looking things with a plug coming out of them and IIRC 3-4 brake lines coming out of the block (from the master cyl and then to the rear of the truck) they are hooked to then it only has rear wheel ABS. if the lines off the master cyl go to a pump with alot of brake lines coming out of it then it has 4 wheel ABS
no pump on mine just a few lines and a couple wires
then locking of the front wheels under hard/severe braking is normal. the rears should never lock up.
well i dont even hit my brakes hard enouph now with this exhaust brake, i figured i would try to get it fixed before winter so i dont slide all over the place
I had a 94 none diesel Ram that locked up the front brakes only on the first stop or two when it was damp out, after that they worked fine. It turned out to be bad front rotors. They had a few gouges in spots that I think were cause by the pads rusting against them.

Any updates? :pca1:
