Hey Firecapt, I couldnt find the 2nd code right off hand, Lemme do a little bit of research to see what I can find out. For now, this is the results of the first code..
PO217 : Decreased Engine Performance Due To Coolant Overheating Lemme see what I can find real quick to help you out. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Ok I found a definition of the 2nd code: P2509 ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Intermittent So Far it looks like the P2509 could mean weak or dead cells in one or both batteries. But thats not definate yet. Im still looking. Lemme see what kinda coverage I can find explaining what they mean and possibly how to fix them. |

I cant seem to find a straight answer on what causes the P0217, or how to fix it.. All we know for sure is that its set by Engine coolant overheating.
Hope this helps you in some way! |
P0217:
2. ECT SENSOR Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature. Use a temperature probe and measure the engine temperature near the ECT Sensor. With the scan tool, read the Engine Temperature. Compare the temperature probe reading with the scan tool reading. Are the readings within 10° of each other? Yes >> Repair the cause of mechanical failure. Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL). (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/ENGINE CONTROL MODULE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING) No >> Replace the coolant temp sensor. Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL). (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/ENGINE CONTROL MODULE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING) The temp sensor is on top of the engine, next to the thermostat housing. |
Did you get this one fixed yet?
