98 Dodge 12V Fuel Leak
yesterday i went to go tow my fathers boat and i noticed a decent size puddle of fuel under my truck. :madd: it seems to be leaking over by the fuel filter maybe a little more behind that. i did change my fuel filter last week. i did tighten everything up. i checked the drain valve and that is closed. i haven't really had time to look yet. hopefully tomorrow i can. i did see this post. maybe a similar problem. i dunno how similar the 12v and the 24v are tho.

Jim are you sure you got the o-rings/gasket in right?:

Thats what I'll bet on, those big o-rings can be a PITA to get back on right. I've gone through more than a few in my 97.

The lines that run from your pump tighten each one at the pump and at the injectors

1 Attachment(s)
well i found where its leaking from. it looks like it will be fun to replace. im guessing it is the fuel supply line?
Attachment 57155 when i run the truck it squirts out right before the hose clamp. its a crappy cell phone pic. and it seems like it may be a rubber line i cant quite tell. im going to try and rip into it more tomorrow. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- oh and my headlights only work on high beam. new bulbs i checked the fuse. any ideas? thanks! |
had one like it go out on my 96, its a pre formed hose, luckily my local cummins dealer had one on the shelf, i now carry a spare one in the glove box, although you can use a long pice of fuel line for a temporary repair untill you get the rite part, :U:
