Turbo Noise?
Alright so ive heard a similar noise like this before and it turned out being the turbo bolts loose, wasn't that this time. I replaced the gaskets today because they were shot and still no fix. its a 62/65/14 from smeding over a 75mm. Im leaning towards turbo bearings even though the center section has less than 2k on it. It sounds like a squeal noise, best I can describe. Noise is dependent on drive pressure though not boost pressure. Steady 20psi no noise but 20psi up a hill throttle down I hear it. I can send texts of the noise just don't know how or if I can post video here. Thanks guys

Check the end play and side to side play on the turbos. If that checks out then I’d start looking very closely at all the gaskets and the charge air system for a leak.
If if you still can’t isolate it then even if the shaft play checks it could be a bearing. Look ok at the housings and wheels very closely. If they are rubbing, you should be able to tell. |

What did you find? |
When in doubt, throw it out.....
OR rebuild that badboy. You certainly do not want to ingest ANY metal particles or shavings into your engine. A replacement or properly rebuilt turbo is cheap insurance against total turbo failure leading to severe or total engine damage. |
Sorry for late response. Turbo was fine. I ended up swapping manifolds to a 3pc. Shouldve done awhile ago. noise went away. was either bad gaskets or crack in manifold to those having same issues.

Nice job! Glad to hear it.
