detroit 8.2ltr limiting fuel governer
 

hello, was wondering if there was anyone out there that has ever worked on the fuel speed limiting governer on the 8.2ltr , ive recently purchased an 8.2ltr from usa but it has an electric throttle where as mine is all mechanical, ive managed to take both governers off the their respective engines, what I need to know is when the fuel rail is turned fully the spring pressure pulls the rail back when released , does it pull the rail all the way back to no fuel position , so in theory as ive made no adjustnments to the governer itself when I replace the governer back on the other engine and connect the governer rods to the fuel rail, will I have to do an initial set up or not, will the vehicle start ok just by refitting governer and connecting up the linkages, if anyone out there could help would be mutch appreaciated .
