Can't get truck fixed anywhere so i found this site and maybe we can figure it out, any help is appreciated. 2003 dodge 2500 5.9 cummins, idles fine, runs fine while accelerating, but as soon as you get off idle it starts to cut off and on like you are turning the key off and on really fast, never dies completely, it also does this while driving down the road after you level off and take the load off. you can hold brake and put in gear give gas and won't do it, it has to be without a load on it. Dodge has put throttle position sensor on, fuel pressure regulator, ignition switch, computer, none of these has made any difference. Just setting in park as soon as you rev up 1000 rpm it start cutting out, the faster you rev seems like the farther apart they get. thanks for any help.

while in park , rev the rpms to 2000 and see if it hangs for a sec and slowly comes back down.

what your are describing sounds like an injector issue. not sure, need more info

Do you have sufficient fuel pressure? maybe fuel pump/ LP crapping out on you. How many miles on your rig? Any trouble codes?:humm:

All the injectors were replaced about 3000 miles ago with bosch injectors, only code they found was ac pressure switch. truck has 213000 miles, fuel pressure is fine, been changed to in tank pump, they say injector pressure is fine, everything checks ok, just got in it one day and it started doing this. Just can't figure why it runs fine at idle and heavy accelleration, but cut on and off under no load. In park rev up to 1000 it cuts on off, put in drive hold the brake rev up to 1000 rpm runs fine, when you level off to speed you want go then it starts doing it. no smoke of any color, and gauges never move they are not loosing power when this happens.

Well, ya got me stumped bro. Im just tossing this out there, but how about the crank position sensor? I cant understand why there are no codes...............
Just for giggles (or not) try cleaning your battery connections and all of the ground connections in the engine bay. There are several. I just did this last week and I could swear my engine runs a bit smoother. A bad ground connection can wreak havoc, especially to your ECM. It'll just cost you a little bit of time. Worth a shot.

If you have anyone near you that has cr, change out the afc on your cp3
it will only take a minute to see if that is your problem. My truck going
down the road would cut out on me. then be ok. Changed the afc, now good.

I will sure give it a try, and thanks to all the info, i'll try anything, truck has been down for 3 months, back riding in the ole 95 7.3 . It just seems to me if it were a grounded wire it would not matter if under load or not. It seems like it is a relay that is cutting in and out, but there again a relay would not know if in gear or not. I had my modis hooked up to it again and i noticed that when the engine hiccuped all the readings like lost there bearings and then went right back to where they were, it is like the computer hiccupes with the truck, sounds weird but thats the best way i could explain it.

go to MoparMan1973's forum page, he has an extensive list of trouble codes and might even address your problem directly in one of the many threads:
