95 f250 power stroke
Hi I'm new here as far as posting but have often visited this site for help in the past. My daughters 95 f250 7.3 power stroke has had a fuel leak for a while. It seems to have gotten progressively worse and now it will not start at all. My question is We took it in for an estaminet and was quoted $1000 is this about right? Also can a fuel leak make the truck not start eventually it had gas in it when she came home the night before? Just hoping the truck not starting is related to the fuel leak and not another problem.
Thx |
If it had gas in it that would probably be a major contribution to not starting ;)

Did they happen to mention what they thought the problem was? If they just come out and say $1000 to fix it and nothing else is said about repair, id be taking my truck somewhere else... Kinda sounds like a shady place. The fuel leak shouldnt have anything to do with starting. My 97 had leaks in both front and back tanks for a while and was fine.

Yes a fuel leak can be related to no start all depends on where the leak is need more info on problem to give better response

Sounds like your injector pump is leaking, common on 7.3 with high miles. Mine did ur too but was more to fix mine. Just make sure you are comfortable with your mechanic!

Injector pump? The 95 7.3 does not have an injection pump but nice try.
As for the turbo having to be removed to pull the fuel pump, that is also false. It can be done with the turbo in place, I have done it myself. They are only telling you that so they can charge you more money. |
