5.9 cummins surges tell u put cruise on!
 

Im realitively new to diesels. I just bought a 2001 dodge 2500 5.9 cummins 24 valve HO with 6 speed MANUEL tranny. So I've been told its an HO. Supposedly its been replaced and only has 150,000 on it and the truck has 375,000. It has an edge juice with attitude tuner, cold air intake, and exhaust. I bought the truck for a chore truck not a hot rod. So I'm contemplating to remove the tuner to save headache in the long run but haven't figured that out yet, and the gauges it provides are nice. I've only had the truck a couple weeks and it jus started surging in 2, 3, 4 gears until i set the cruise. I thought maybe it was a fuel filter so I replaced it and it still does it. Noticed batteries were old but in decent shape, truck starts fine and its not smoking at all unless you get on it and then its jus your normal black smoke. Thanks for the help!!!!

The electronics in our trucks are very sensitive to having the correct voltage. So start out by cleaning your battery conections and all the body grounds. Then load test the batteries. If one tests bad, replace both batteries not just the bad one.
