F250 06 Removing Trans Lines
I am looking for a way to remove my trans lines from the engine where they are attached. I have the lines cut as they were rusted and the springs would not release with the proper tool. But I cannot get to the nut that attaches the tubes to the block. The nut is between the engine and the cross member not enough room for a wrench or socket.
Can this be done with out lifting the engine? What is the least amount of items to be removed to just lift engine a few inches? Can this nut be removed from the front or pull the wheeel well cover? Any help or ideas would be appreciated.:argh::argh: Tom |
unbolting the AC pump will help, the engine can be lifted on just the pass side, it should go up about 2 inches with no problems.

I have the lines out alittle mangled getting out but putting back in is a huge issue. I plan on getting a engine leveler today. Can this be done with one mount loose? Bob can I get away with doing this without hood removal. Every fittting or line is being replaced as they are rusted. Any other ideas? This should not be this bad but no room to work on back or in tight areas? HELP |
I pull the engine with the hood still on so that should not be an issue, it will realy help to put the pass side up on jack stand and remove the tire and wheel, you can work through the wheel well to help.
