no power pulling travel trailer.

Hi everyone. I have a 97 f250 7.3 powerstroke. We bought the truck knowing we would have to do some work to it. When the big day came for it to haul our travel trailer it failed miserably. Our trailer is not that heavy. Weighing in at approximately 6000 loaded. Our f150 has better towing than the diesel. Getting up hills we would drop it to 2nd (1st on a steep hill)and have the pedal to the floor. It was absolutely gutless. If the truck isn't towing anything it drives nice and cruises good on the highway. I must mention though that I have a gravel driveway which has a fairly steep incline. If I don't get a run at the hill I can't make it up. I have the revs up high and the tires barely move ( they don't spin and spit gravel) until it just powers out. Anyways the truck does have 355 rear ends , a lift and 33 tires. I can't see these things making the truck this gutless. So far we have replaced the following; cam position sensor, exhaust sensor, Speedo sensor, fuel pump on block, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, also we cleaned the tube that goes to the manifold from the exhaust sensor. One other thing I should mention is it does have some speratic shifting sometimes. ( premature shifting) You don't notice that so much when the truck is towing. Also she doesn't blow any black and there is no shuttering and our tranny guy said everything was good in that department. Can anyone help? We are at the end of our budget and ready to call her quits.
