Turbo went out on the way home blew a lot of white smoke had it looked at by texas diesel power they confermed it was the turbo. Had another mechanic put a refabed turbo in it. Got it back today and it had no power psi gage did not work and almost home the check engine light came on he said when it blew there was a lot of oil shoved in the exhaust and it is just cloged and needs to run to break it up/ burn off. And he wants to look at it again to see why the check engin light is on... he says if you get on it the boost will build but when I did I got nothing but high rpms. Not sure what to do from here

If a turbo blows, only way it will smoke white is if its way over fueling, never seen a medium duty truck do it. If it was blue smoke the good chance it was the turbo. White smoke is usually coolant. Do you have a boost gauge in it? Did they put on a new, reman, or used turbo? Did they make sure it was off 04.5 or newer? What code did it throw when CEL came on? Is it doggy all the time? Just at low rpm? Just at high rpm?

Its white smoke and that would make sence because I had no antifreeze or water in the reservoir. It is doggy all the time theres no get up and when it finally dose get up to speed and you get on it again I just get high rpms and no go. Yes I dovhave a gage and it is not reading at all. I'm not sure what year turbo they put in bit they got it from the ford house and its rebulit. I do not not what code it is throwing I am going to take it down to the oryleys and get them to read the code whenvi get off today. How ever all my temps are good and the truck never gets hot

Temp sensor will not read accurately if there is not enough coolant in the system.

Ok the code it was throwing is for the turbo saying no boost detected. Coolant levle is fine. But I'm still not getting any psi reading. I drove it to the store and it barley moved but not much at all. I can not hear the turbobthrough the exhaust at all. I worry all the oil that was shoved into the exhaust and muffler is clogging and may blow seals and gaskets. I don't know for sure ive just been told the old turbo shoved oil down through the pipe

The oil in the exhaust is BS that someone who knows nothing about these trucks just made up. its BS. most likely they forgot to hook up the Map sensor hose, it is on passenger side of the intake right behind the alternator and goes up to the sensor by the top of the oil fill tube. it will be a rubber hose with plastic wire wrap on it, there is a hose barb coming straight out the top of the intake that it should hook to. it will run like total poop without that hose hooked up.

I'd also check all the boots, make sure tree not cut and are tightened down
