12v cummins wont start after running out of fuel

Can there be a problem in the shutoff or does it sound like injector pump also last night i ran my ram out of fuel also had a hard time getting it going thanks for any info

Did you make sure the line from lift to injection pump wasn't air locked?

Im getting fuel past the lift pump and threw the outlet on fuel filter .so i should break the line lose on the injection pump? Is there any bleader on the pump? Also my # is 2055687876 if any one want to text any info

No bleeder just have to loosen fitting on IP then cycle key, but do not crank, till fuel is present. Once you have fuel at IP you will have to go through and bleed all injector lines. Much easier to do if you have someone in cab.

Once u check your fuel shut off crack all your injector lines loose (on top of the motor) turn it over a few times then if that dont work try the vacume pump method try to get fuel to come up to ur injectors if fuel dont get up there you more than likely need a new pump

I had a simular problem to this got it to run it ran for a hour started up fine so i let it sit overnight next day i go out start it up to leave i go about 50 yards and it dies and wouldent start so i pulled er in the garage pulled the pump sent it to cadiz diesel and turns out it needed rebuilt when theres wear on these pumps one time running out of fuel will set u in the hole

You do need to crank the engine so the pump will pull fuel. The pump is mechanical and not electrical so the engine needs to be turning.

You are not getting fuel past your injection pump? Could your injection pump be air locked?
