Sometimes oil will leak past the Injector cups since ford uses a HEUI injection system. Now as for redlining you either have a bad conenction somewhere but if you can pull codes for us we may be more able to help you..

I sound stupid here but what codes am i looking for...

If you know of anyone who can get an OBD II on your vehicle it will bring up any codes stored on any of the major CPU's. Some will throw a check engine light (CEL) and other will not because either they are a stored code or history code. We just want to see if there are any codes because this will tell us the area we will need to address and correct the issue you have told us. These codes can show us the problem areas with the transmission or engine. hope this helps. Can you maybe tell us more about the vehicle such as how many miles what the maintaince on it?

there are 114xxx on it

Well unless your gonna dig into it, Its either you have bad rings, valve guides, or an injector cup leaking by. If it does alot of idle time its most likely rings but that can be checked by doing a compression test.
