Hello from Wisconsin. Toyota OM617 Swap

Just wanted to say hello from Appleton Wisconsin.

My first diesel SUV

I have a 1985 Toyota 4Runner I have transplanted a Mercedes OM617.950 I5 turbo diesel into

I am lazy and bought a kit to install tdswaps.com

So far it has been a time consuming swap still needs a lot of work and tweaking and cleaning up.

Since I am new to diesel I will be asking a lot of question that most likely will seem dumb to most of you but this is how I lean..

Some random pics.

I’m kind of ashamed how it looks right now until I am %100 happy I will leave the stock harness in place . when I am happy I will cut it all out and clean it up.

Dose anyone. Know if the stock 300SD fuel tank is vented to the outside? Because I think my stock Toyota is not?

First tank of diesel 27-28.5 MPG
2nd tank of diesel 23-24 driving like a mad man turned up the ALDA
Just put the 3rd tank of diesel in.

I am going to try to drive good. But it is hard since I like to hear the turbo spool and I can’t get over the fact my ole sh!t box can go 80 +

Well I did so good for the first 200-250 miles but I could not drive like and old man anymore.
This last tank 26.6 MPG keep in mind I have 33x14.5x15 trusx tires and stock 4.10s

I am curious at what I will get with my plowing tires 234/75/15

The first half tank via the fuel gauge was 240. Before it hit the half tank mark

Some pics of my relocated oil cooler
Oil cooler mounted temporally until I put my plow on to see where it needs to be permanently

convert my oil cooler lines to JIC fitting.
I had the hoses made up. and i taped the oil cooler
I have a oil pressure gauge in my 3 gauge pillar but I also want a low oil light on the dash so If I blow a hose I am alerted right away to shut it down.
