jeeps...sprinters

Hi,

I used to have a mobile business that used Sprinter vans. THe 2006 Sprinter had a 5 cyl turbo diesel, the 2007 had the CRD. they were both awesome, but I was really impressed with the 2006, it had gobs of torque for hill climbing, and we lived on a very steep hill, yet in that big van it would deliver 27 mpg on the highway if I was careful driving it.
Two of my sons have Wrangler TJ's. One is a 4 and one is a 6. I would love to hook up a sprinter engine to a manual transmission in one of them, but from what I've been reading, the ECU is dependant on the automatic transmission, so it may not work. Anyway, some kind of a diesel jeep is my interest for joining. Thanks.

Ah, someone who loves Diesels in Jeeps- like me...

2 choices:

Either you get a complete diesel engine and drive train in europe and ship it to the US.

or:

You can buy every Jeep model as a diesel version in germany.

Welcome to Dieselbombers!

Thats how a 2.5 L Diesel engine look like in the XJ Cherokee. It is a direct swap into the Wrangler:
