New to Diesels and Site

Hey yall I'm a newbie to diesels and a complete lamen, Considering buying a 99 24v here in the next couple weeks but a little apprehensive seeing that if something breaks I have not the faintest idea how to fix it. Hell my DD is a suzuki samurai that I can fix just about anything with my multi-tool on my hip lol. My question is ( and yes I have done a few searches on this site) if anyone has any links to quality simple tech reference materials related to the 24v. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am coerced by the efficiency and longevity of diesel engines. Alright... also by that unmistakeable sound of a Cummins.

I thought they had tech articles somewhere on the site, but can't seem to find them now. First thing you need to do is make sure you have a fuel pressure gauge on that baby ASAP! :c:

Sorry to change things up so much and thanks for the replies, I usually hate when people ask this question but I'm going to anyhow haha. Today found a '97 250 4x auto pstroke w/ 168k mi. for $6k worth it? I'm in the rust belt so it has the typical quarter rust starting but other than it's pretty clean.:humm:
