New guy
Hello:
I'm the new kid on the block. I build streetrod chassis for a living. I picked up a 1941 Ford 1-1/2 ton a couple of months back and a 6BD1-T Isuzu. I had a Turbo-400 built for the engine with a Gear Vendors underdrive mated to it. I'm in the process of building a new chassis for the truck, it will have a Chev 1-ton independent front and a Ford Dana 70 in the rear. I'm also running 19.5 wheels on both ends, with truck type tires, yet to be determined. I look forward to being here and learning something new. Thanks, Randy |
Welcome! to db :hi: :welcome: :welcome2: Merry Christmas! ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- That ISUZU 6 is not a bad Idea what year is the powerplant? I am thinking mid to late 80s early 90s 120hp/2800rpm 462ftlbs/1800rpm what did it come out of? most I know came from motor homes. Do you have pics? thanks for joining. |
Rustin:
It came out of a 1980 GMC 1-ton pickup special ordered by the county for a road boss. I was told that it got around 32 mpg. This engine was rated at 140 hp before the turbo was added. Randy |
Welcome to DB!!!
Sounds like a cool project. |
WOW! Are you going to keep the same rear gearing for the economy? or are you going for the power. You have a unique combination there. any modifications to the power-plant. for being 5.7l You think there might be a possibility of using some 5.9l parts?
