Finally home
Hello all,
Although I joined the forum this spring, I haven't had time to introduce myself. I just recently came home from Afghanistan and trying to settle back into college. My first diesel was a 95 chevy half ton with the na 6.5. It didn't have much for power, but got great economy and it would take a lickin' and keep on tickin! I wish I still had it honestly with the outrageous fuel prices! Anyways, I came home and tore into my pair of 12 valves. 4K gsk's, 60# valve springs, exhaust brakes, fuel plate grinding and LOTS of afc tuning with the help of my friend Jon and I have a couple of really fun pickups! Ok, maybe too much fun since my REtarded tranny didn't like the power and I'm now shopping for a clutch for the other. I would like to thank the great vendors that are on this site for the fantastic deals and all the great tech threads from all the users. If anybody arond southern minnesota needs a rebuild on their 47, let me know. I have been in contact with a great individual that rebuilt mine. It's no Goerend, but it will be fine for a daily tow rig or a mildly tuned pickup. As for future projects, I'm overhauling a DT436 out of my plow tractor, a 1566; and i'm waiting to trip across a 4bt for my old '77 chevy. Happy wrenching everyone!
