Ford Cummins

Hi all,
I'm new this forum thing and to diesels. I own and operate an air conditioning and refrigeration company. About 6 years ago I bought an 02 Ford E350 with the 7.3l Powerstroke "service van" and really started to enjoy the benifits of haveing a diesel powered vehicle. About three years ago I purchased a 1990 Ford F-250 long bed extended cab with the too small 5.8l 351 gas engine so I could tow around my custom built rock crawler, "76 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 EFI 350 chevy, dana 44 front axle, ford 9" rear axle, 205 with lomax conversion, built turbo 350, 37" baja claws mounted to 17x9 poison spyder bead locks". But soon found that small engine would not cut it. 4-6 miles per gallon towed. 13-14 MPG's un-hooked. Continued to tow at that point with the service van but was a pain cause I've got 2 kids and a wife to haul with only a 2 seater van loaded with all my equipment and parts. So I started looking at a Cummins conversion for my F250 and soon after found a 1998 Dodge ram 2500 with the 5.9l cummins diesel that was rolled but everything I needed worked great. So I bought the whole truck in rolled but running condition with 160K miles for 2K and hauled it back home, tore it apart and started buying the required conversion parts needed to complete project. I was able to sell all the remaining parts off the dodge to pay for itself and help fund the conversion parts. I recently completed the conversion and after selling the ford 351 and trans the total conversion only cost me around 2.5K. I am very new to the cummins engine and am hoping by getting on to this forum I can better understand this engine and make proper and appropriate modifications. Its not a sled puller its just a reliable tow rig "hopefully". If you wanna see the conversion videos of the truck before and afters check it out on YouTube and search under screen name snm76. Any constructive input and or suggestions would be appriciated. And an unfortunate side note to this project I later found out the 24 valve cummins had the imfamous "53" casted block with the cracking issue. Well my non knowledge of the cummins engine I unkowingly purchaced that dodge with the 53 casted cummins engine:argh:. Their is no crack to speak of and I hope it stays that way!
Thanks for lookin:tu:
