Super Newbie

Well sort of. I currently do not own a diesel, I did years back though. Back in High School I had a 82 blazer with a 6.2 that served as my plow truck. sold it in 94 and have missed it since, but didn't have absolute need for a diesel. Currently I have a 98 gmc 2500 with 350 and the wifes 06 durango with hemi. I do some towing, I tow my jeep on a 20 ft beaver tail. both do pretty well, but the gmc is nearing 220K on the original drivetrain. I have been researching on buying a new to me diesel truck with in the next year or so..
thinking
06-07 dodge 4dr ctd with 6 spd manual
05-07 chevy or gmc ext cab auto
not really a ford guy, but wouldn't discount one.

Prefer to get a truck as stock as possible with less than 80K miles. I know it's getting hard to fnd those years with those miles, but I am patient.

Just gonna lurk, read and research.

Thanks for having me.

You'll have no problems finding trucks with that low mileage, there's still tons out there. If you were looking for say, a 2002 7.3L PSD with <90,000 miles, that would be much more difficult.

Thanks for the welcome!

Ya my main function would be for occasional daily driving and towing, so the power mods would be limited to things that improve the towing capability with in reason. Thinking turbo back exhaust, intake, filter, converter and maybe a programer. I do not want to have to get too deep into the tranny unless I have too. But I found this site searching for 02 duramax injector replacement for a co-worker, I found a great tech write up and it definately helped us with the install. I would say 90% of the people in my offroad club tow with diesels, so I need to keep up with the jones :humm:
