newbie to the group

Greetings, we've owned 2 diesel over the past 8 years. Very happy until the last couple of months, front diff went sour due to a pinion bearing, 2 weeks later the rear diff needed new gears, now I have the 0121 and 1693 codes.:dang: Looking on your web site last night and saw all the help and decided to join. :hellox:

Thanks, I'm working on it, the question I have is if I have the 0121 code does this mean the APPS needs to be replaced or is this a trouble shooting code that there is something else causing the code ? Thanks

Most likely the APPS will need replaced, they are notorious for failing. You can get an aftermarket unit (high quality, probably better than the stock unit) here for about $160 shipped: http://www.dodgecumminsapps.com
Good luck and :hi:

If you want to try recalibrating your APPS first, you can find info about that here:

Howdy, I'm doing some trouble shooting, after disconnecting the batteries the PCU is clear of codes, the ECU is showing 237, 1691 and 121. From what I'm hearing the first code is the most previlant which in this case the MAP sensor may be causing the other codes,,,,,,,,,,, thoughts ?

I would be very concerned about the 1691 as it's usually a sign of the VP44 getting ready to take a dump. With that many codes however, you might have a grounding issue somewhere. I would suggest cleaning the main grounds thoroughly in the engine compartment before proceeding much further.

Thanks mishkaya, I'm going to clean the MAP sensor since that seems to be previlant code (237) and hope for the best. The lift pump was replaced at 34,000, the VP 44 was replaced at 54,000 miles I have about 130 on the truck now. I installed a fuel pressure gage when the VP 44 was replaced and run around 14 psi at idle and 12 when reved up.
Thanks again, Skip
