Gas to Diesel?
 

Hi everyone. I am trying so hard to get some information. I want to know if it is possible to put a diesel motor in my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. It currently has a gas engine but I would love to put a cummins powerplant in it. Please if anybody can give me any info on what I need and if it can be done it would be very appreciated. I know it can be done, but I'm not sure how. Sorry I couldn't be much help

Obviously need the engine, also need the radiator, aftercooler, power steering cooler, transmission cooler, engine oil cooler, wire harness from the firewall to the PCM, the PCM, transmission, exhaust, overhead computer. Going to be a project and a half.

You will want to ask this question in the Diesel Engine Conversions portion of the forum. I know it has been done, but you will need some serious mechanical skills to complete a project like this as there will be many obstacles to overcome.
