My project

** I've been fascinated with diesels since before I could drive. At first they were a mystery to me on how they worked and the power they put out. So I started looking into them and the older I got the more chances I got at learning more about them even though I'm still a kind of a novice to the diesel world.*I have driven several from stock to modified, old and new and it didn't take long to decide which one I favored the most.
** Chevy and GMC have always been my pick when it comes to choice of brand and Dodge wasn't far behind. But the 6.2 and 6.5 from the 90s were like rebuilt gas engines with not much of a promise in power. And all though I've seen plenty of of them with a Duramax that had plenty of power and speed after mods, they still ranked low for me although I'd stick with the brand. Even though I'm not a big fan of Ford I'd own one if it was the right year and had a Powerstroke in it. But to me Cummins was the way to go hands down.*
** I decided I'd keep my eye out for an 06 or 07 Dodge with a 5.9 Cummins that I liked since Ive yet to own one. The plan was to puchase one before before spring of next year. That would give me enough time to put back some money and finish up some other things I've been working on so that when I finally got one I could put plenty of energy into getting it where I wanted it because there was no way that I was going to leave it stock and I was excited to see what I could pull off.
** I got an opportunity a couple of months ago that I couldn't pass up. I decided to buy an 03 dodge that was wrecked to rebuild. It's a 2500 Cummins with a nv4500 5speed 4x4. I figured if I couldn't get the parts I needed or wanted within the budget I was willing to invest before mods or hit a rut then I could just part it out and make my money back and then some for as cheap as I bought the truck for.*
** So far so good but I wanted to do something that I haven't found anyone else had done yet and I had a parts truck from another truck I own that the body is still in decent shape as far as the cab and front wrap. So I decided I would try that route just because I'm all about being different when I can be. But instead of running before i learn to walk, I'll start bombing it after I get the truck put back together.*
** I'm planning on this being a good way to try out a couple of products, get better at tuning, and work through some mistakes if any before I get a chance to get a newer truck. It should be a good learning project. I'll keep updated when I make good progress and try to post pictures later.*
** Im glad to be a part of the Diesel Bombers community and any input or advice are welcome. Thanks for reading. * *
