New Maxer From The NW
Hi, im new to your forum and would like to introduce myself. i went diesel about 9 months ago. i had it shipped up from texas. 2nd owner of a 2002 duramax crew. ive personally installed a 6 inch fabtech w/ dirt logics, kmc diesels and 35 inch toyos. cognito support kit, super steer steering upgrade, amp research steps, 4 inch d. pipe and 4 inch stainless w/ no cat (bullydog), and an airraid intake.
now i wanna install a chip. i picked up a 3 stage hypertch chip. when i went to install i learned about some dtc codes in my system. 1 is a LOW FUEL PRESSURE code p1093. im learning this could be a sign of faulty injectors, im pretty sure the dealership changed the fuel filter at its five year service, right before i got it. today i tried to drain my FF and no water came out. i guess i might change it anyway. the other code is a GENERATOR F TERMINAL/ FIELD F CONTROL code p0622. if anyone recognizes this code please let me know. anyway im hoping to learn alot on your forum and its great to see and hear so many diesel enthusiasts. this is my first time BOMBING a diesel, but have modified my 450 race quad, my turbo civic, and basically everything i own i have either graced or disgraced with my mods. i have a feeling me and this truck are gonna have a good log run. |
welcome:howdy:
the low fuel pressure, you might need a good lift pump. the other probably means your alternator is goin out:humm:, not really familiar with the DMAX's but that would be my opinions |

Welcome to DB. :hi: I'd say you either have a FPRV valve problem or possibly leaking injectors. See if you oil level keeps going up. If it does then it's most likely injectors.
The other code would seem like an alternator as also mentioned. |

The P0622 is a sign that your alternator is on the way out. As before, clear the code and see if it comes back. If so, have it tested to verify its the alternator and not a bad resistor or connection. Have fun with your truck. I think you're going to like it. :up2: BTW- Welcome to DB. |

Sounds like your truck has already been modded before you got it. If you saw the P1093 stored then someone probably had a hot tune loaded that was draining the rails. I can also be the injectors but your year model truck was under the extended injector warranty and they have most likely already been replaced. Like JC said, a tell tale sign on the LB7's was the oil level increasing due to a bed injector bleeding fuel to the crankcase. If I recommend clearing the code and seeing if it happends again. If it does come back and we'll walk you through a couple of tests you can do to verify the problem. FYI- the stock filter does not have a 5 year change interval. You're going to find that you will have to change it every 13-15K. Your truck will start falling on its face and loosing power. Thats the sign that your gettting close.
