Hello from Georgia

Hi, my name is Ed. I've bought a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 12v Cummins Extended Cab Long Bed Automatic 4x4 back in February and am looking at taking care of maintenance issues, and upgrading it.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase! Would be great, if you can share some pictures with us, when you have a chance. What upgrades exactly are you planning to do?

Well, taking care of fixes first. I'm doing the KDP fix with my father-in-law this weekend, and also replacing the metal gas line with a marine grade biodiesel hose, and will still need to work on rust repair on the running boards of the driver side. The truck came to me by way of Minnesota, and the rust overall is not as bad as many trucks that I saw up there, the previous owner had done a pretty good job with it.

For upgrades, I want to get it up to 450 hp, so I'm saving up for a built tranny, and will then work on the common mods of tuning the fuel pump, upgraded turbo, grinding the fuel plate, and if I need to, a set of new injectors if I can't hit that number with the stock, but I'm hoping since I'm not shooting for the super high numbers I might be alright. I need to replace the front seats since the head rest is not adjustable and with my long torso the head rest only comes to the middle of my neck making it very uncomfortable to sit back. This is my daily driver and I need to tow heavy with it. Not looking to race or roll coal but I would like the truck to be able to get out of its own way. And maybe beat someone to the next light every now and then.
