2001 Dodge Ram 6 - Speed - Cummins
 

Special ordered my 2001 Dodge Ram short bed 6-speed SLT Plus in December 2000. It has every option except the sport package. Reason I didn't go with the sport package is that I personally liked the look of a little bit of chrome. Call me old school. In addition to that, at that time there were more aftermarket options available for the non-sport model. The Trucks birthday is 01/01/01. Not sure if that's a good thing or not but it's certainly an interesting birthday. Overall very pleased with the truck, though the short bed has a much harder ride than long beds I've driven. Snow plow package, camper package, towing package, overload springs... you name it... she's got it. And in my opinion sounds like a diesel should.

I drove it to a friends house on the way home after picking it up from the dealership. His girlfriend said what's wrong with the truck? Isn't it new? It's really loud! Sounds like a garbage truck! Must have been collection day because I could see some of the neighbors rolling out their garbage cans as though they were about to miss the collection. I just smiled... it's a Cummins!
