Noob to the site but Diesels have been a part of my life for the last 10 years or so. I run various Drill rigs in Western Canada for water wells, mineral exploration, dewatering, geothermal, environment, geotechnical none of that oil and gas stuff yet and hopefully never.

Joined up to do some research on the old Merc's OM617. Just picked up an 82 300SD to slam the motor into my old 87' 4runner, and really liked the good info I found doing some basic searches. Kudos on the clean swaps fellas!
in the stable I've got an 89' toyota surf with the 2LTE that pops heads if you look at it wrong, and a mitsubishi Pajero 2.8L engine I've been taking in and out of an old 47' Willys CJ2a for the last few years. (never ending project)
and I currently daily Drive an 05' 3500 Duramax with some subtle mods. I use it for everything and plow it where it shouldn't go any chance I get. typical Front end issues but what truck doesn't have em. Dreams of a D60 to cure it.... one day!
anyways every good old truck needs a name so this one's "burro" aka Donkey
