New truck, new with a diesel
I've just purchased and had a 1993 Ford F350 crew cab long bed truck shipped to me from New Orleans. It has a 7.3idi with a Banks Sidewinder turbo on it. Not sure what transmission it has, but it is automatic. The truck is very clean, the only thing I had to do was get a tailgate for it. I haven't got it started yet, but am told that the oil filter gasket blew and she leaked the oil out causing it to knock. The fuel lines around the injectors were missing on the front driver's side line, so I'm assuming air is in the system (which I've been told will stop it from starting. Before I grab a engine for it I would like to hear this one run, knocking or not. Not exactly sure what to do, but I'm determined to learn the ins and outs of diesels and produce a MONSTER truck! Going to clean 'er up and take photos to post at a later date. Include me in any posts that might help, I am a willing student!:tu:
